Students in this specialization have the option to complete an international practicum around the world.
The global health curriculum offered by the Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Global Health (GISGH) lays the foundation for understanding the different barriers and cultural differences towards health around the world. Taking that knowledge and laying it over the experience of an international practicum deepens the student's understanding in a way that is not possible solely with classroom exposure. Practicum experiences offer on-site participation in research, clinical training opportunities (treatment or prevention) or outreach in a developing country.
See where students go as they learn about global health in resource-poor areas, work collaboratively with teams from other cultures and increase their practical knowledge about health care around the world.
