Students need to enroll in the GISGH program before trying to register for this class as it requires instructor permission. Once you have enrolled in the GISGH program your name will be given to the instructor and you will be permitted to register. This course is offered once annually.
Course: PUBHLTH 6000 Introduction to Global Health (2 units)
Instructor: Maria Gallo, PhD
This course will raise students’ awareness of health issues that transcend national borders and cultures, and offer an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and interest in the global health field. Lectures each week will cover topics such as the global burden of diseases and determinants, food security and population health, women’s health and child survival, and health care systems around the world.
